Rich Lyons begins his term
On July 1, longtime campus business and innovation leader Rich Lyons ’82 began his term as UC Berkeley’s 12th chancellor, kicking his tenure off with a welcome message to the campus community: “I am homegrown, the first undergraduate alum to serve as your Chancellor. More than anyplace else, Berkeley has had the most impact on my life, no contest. This element of who I am is a great source of motivation and meaning for me.” Faculty, staff, students, and alums welcomed him right back via video.
